You are thinking about contributing? Great! We very much welcome contributions and guest posts!

I’ve written this as a bit of guidance to help you along, to outline how this blog works.

I presume you’ve already checked out the purpose of this blog, so you know what this is broadly about. Within that, we welcome any thoughts and topics – anything you’d like to write about is fine (just check the few points below).

To get started, it’s generally helpful to focus on a single idea within one post – it helps to keep it contained. Once you have a draft, just email it to me (Niina). I maintain the overall Editorial oversight for all posts. The purpose of this is to support the contributors and guest bloggers to articulate their messages and thoughts as clearly as possible so that the posts accurately reflect what the contributors and guest bloggers want to convey.

In other words, once you have a draft, I’ll help you refine the post so that it’s clear, and I’ll help you put things so that they come across the way you want them to come across.

Importantly, the purpose of the Editorial oversight is not to influence the substantial content (the ‘message’) of the contributor or guest posts.

The second purpose of the Editorial oversight is to ensure the posts are within good taste. I tend to adopt a pretty broad view of good taste and am really not anticipating this to become an issue.

Once your post is ready to go live, you’ll either put it through the system yourself (if you are a regular contributor) or I’ll put it through for you (if it’s a one-off guest post – the system only allows 10 contributors). In either case, I have to press the final approval – so you never need to worry about accidentally posting a draft. Once the post is live, you just share a link to it!

I generally aim to post about once every fortnight, but it’s a leisure blog not precise science…. Once your post is ready to go live I’ll try to put it out as soon as is sensible without overcrowding.

We are all very much looking forward to reading about your idea or thought – so get blogging! =)

Ps. If you think we are missing key info here, or some of the above is unclear, please do suggest changes! None of this is set in stone!

  2. Hi Nina,

stumbled across your blog via twitter, and thought I’d ask whether you’d like to submit any articles to feature the Occupational Therapy Show newspaper (www.theotshow.com). Doesn’t necessarily have to be clinical, just something the OT profession can relate to.

  3. Hi Mike, thanks for asking! Let me ask around and see, we have actually discussed this recently so perfect timing. I will get back to you in a couple of weeks. Cheers, Niina
